A Time of Reflection

A time of reflection this week - Keith Emerson's death on March 11th has really affected me. I suppose along with Andre Previn and my Music Teacher at school, Trefor Farrow, Keith Emerson had more influence on me as a Musician than anyone else. I remember waiting with baited breath for the next ELP album to come out back in the very early 1970s. So many times in my musical career I have found myself playing a chord sequence that has a direct line back to a Keith Emerson composition. Simon Chamberlain, co-composer of Mrs Henderson, is also a great ELP fan and we talked at great length about his musical influence on us both. Suicide - despair - depression - all from worry about not being able to play anymore. So very sad.
